Kathleen Louise (Hackett) Costello

Kathleen Louise Costello (Nee Hackett), Age 90, of Millville, passed away peacefully on April 13, 2023. 

She was born in 1933 in Alton, Illinois to Valentine and Dorothy Hackett. She grew up in Berlin, NJ and Leesburg, NJ. She married Dominick Costello and raised seven children while working full time at Armstrong Cork as a ware packer. When she left the factory for maternity leave, she went on to work for Rennoc Sewing factory. At 38 years old, she earned her GED and enrolled in the Cumberland County College where she graduated on Dean’s List with her Associate’s degree. She then went on to work as a group home manager for the Training School where she ultimately retired as an Assistant Director.

Her passions are her husband and children, reading- especially historical works and poetry. She had a sharp wit and was an amazing mother and grandmother. She is predeceased by her husband Dominick and son Dominick III. She was a long-time member of Crossings Wesleyan Church.

Loving mother of Kevin R. Costello (Kim), Audrey B. Simpkins (Ralph), Angelo B. Costello, Kathleen L. Rios (Sam), Dr. Pamela J. Costello, MD (Bill) and Mary F. Overstreet (Steve). She is also survived by 10 grand children, numerous great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; her sister Marie Kline, brothers, George Hackett and Norman (Betty) Hackett.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit with the family from 10:30-11:30am on Thursday, April 20, 2023 at Rocap Shannon Memorial Funeral Home 24 N. 2nd Street, Millville NJ 08332. Funeral service will begin at 11:30am. Interment to follow at Greenwood Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to The Trinity First Hope Center, 100 S. 2nd St., Millville, NJ 08332.
