Wesley S. Cox III, 60, loving husband and father, of Millville, died at home after an extended illness on Thursday. Born in Bridgeton, NJ he had lived in Millville most of his life.
Wesley was a 1972 graduate of Millville Senior High School, and served as the Senior Class President. He also was a member of the high school football and wrestling teams. He also served the Merchant Marines. Wesley retired after 25 years as a corrections officer working at Bayside State Prison.
Wesley always enjoyed a great time, and was a wonderful story teller. He enjoyed karate, fishing, boating, motorcycles, and traveling. Wesley also was an avid coin collector.
He is survived by: wife, Cristina Cox at home; daughter, Christine Cox at home; brothers, Bradley and Fran Cox of Rhode Island, Cameron Cox of California, and Wayne Cox of Florida; nephews, Travis and William Cox. Wesley was predeceased by his parents, Wesley S. Cox Jr. and Georgean McAllister.
Services will be held on Wednesday at 11am in the Rocap Shannon Memorial Funeral Home of Millville. Burial will be private. Relatives and friends will be received at the funeral home on Wednesday from 10am until 11am. An Elks service will be observed at 9:45am. Written condolences can be sent to: [email protected]
