William Meischke Obituary

William L. Meischke “Bill”, 81, of Millville, NJ passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 7, 2024.

Bill was a lifelong Millville resident, and he loved this city.  He was very active in clubs and organizations over the years. He was an active member of the Elks, and served many chairs, including the Past Exalted Ruler and on the NJ State Chair of the Elks.  He always participated in the Rob Shannon Slow Pitch Tournament every year as well as the Millville City Youth Week events and was a parishioner of St. Mary’s Church, Millville.
Bill was a trained diesel mechanic and was a hard worker.  Over the years he worked for Gentillini, Burcham Trucking, Vineland White Trucking, Kerr Glass, Riggins Oil and most recently, Miles Concrete.
He loved Sports, especially the Phillies, Eagles and Thurderbolts.  You could often find Bill watching old Western Movies and T.V. shows.  His caregiver gave him the nick name “Cowboy” as he loved John Wayne. Bill took pride in his yard and enjoyed tending to it.

Loving husband of the late Julia (nee: Corson). Beloved father of Joann Smith (Craig), Janice Swistunow (Phil) & Jill Catiln (Rob). Cherished grandfather to Brittney McLeod (Nick), Cameron Elbertson (Lauren), Kyle Smith (April), Kourtney Morris (Robert), Brenden Swistunow, William Elbertson, Riley Elbertson, Alexa Elbertson and Victoria Catlin.  Great grandfather of seven great grandchildren.  Dear brother of Butch Whilden, Sharon Lloyd (Richard), and the late Stanley “Chick” Meischke and Tom Whilden and Harry Whilden.  Bill also leaves behind his loving companion, Judy Bonham and his dear caregiver, Tracy Paulaitis.

Funeral services will be held privately for Bill’s family.
